Working in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale is close enough that we can often get there the same day, and varied enough that no two jobs look alike. Downtown and Las Olas are mid and high-rise work with loading-zone coordination, while a few blocks away Victoria Park and Rio Vista are narrow historic streets with big shade trees and driveways a boom truck has to be threaded into.

The waterfront adds its own category. This is a marine city, and we get asked for lifts over seawalls, onto docks and around canal-front properties where the crane sets up on one side of a very expensive piece of landscaping and reaches over it.

Where the bundles are stacked. If the delivery dropped them on the far side of the lot, that is extra picks and extra hours.
Crane position. We need a spot that reaches both gable ends without repositioning if we can get one.
Crew readiness. Wall plates ready, bracing on hand. We can set fast, but only as fast as the crew ties off.
