Boom Truck Service

The boom truck is the machine we send most. It drives to the job like a truck, sets up in a driveway or a lane, and puts serious rated capacity on the hook without the cost or footprint of a full crane. For AC sets, roofing loads, tarps, sheds and generators, it is almost always the right answer.

The 17-ton is the everyday workhorse: quick to set up, at home on residential streets, and done with most change-outs inside two hours. The 35-ton brings longer reach and heavier single picks for commercial roofs, deep lots and anything the 17 cannot stretch to.

Which truck your job gets

  Weight on the hook. Most residential picks run under a ton. Past that, or past a long reach, the 35-ton takes the job.

  Reach, not just height. A light load far from the truck needs more machine than a heavy load up close. Tell us both numbers.

  Where the truck can sit. Driveway, street or lane. Overhead power lines are the single biggest thing that changes the plan.
• ■
  Time on site. Boom trucks set up fast. Most single picks are a one-to-two-hour window, not a day rate.

When the job outgrows the boom truck

Some picks need more: full truss packages at long span, rooftop generator sets high up, heavy steel. That is when the 40-ton mobile crane comes out, and at the other end the 2-ton spider crane covers what no truck can drive to. One call and we spec the right machine, and we always send the smallest one that safely does the job, because that is what keeps your number down.

If you are an HVAC, roofing or pest-control contractor with steady lift work, ask about a standing arrangement. Standing customers get slotted first when the schedule tightens.
